Cloud microphysics

SSAI personnel simulate weather events, such as this convective
system over Amazonia. This system occurred on February 23, 1999
as part of the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission Large-Scale
Biosphere-Atmosphere Experiment in Rondônia, Brazil.

SSAI support of modeling and simulation efforts includes analysis, applications, and development support to the NASA Goddard Cumulus Ensemble model, where SSAI improved the standard cloud microphysics package, and statistically compared model-simulated radar data with observations. SSAI studies long-term total ozone changes as simulated by 2D models and compares results with observations.
