State of the Climate in 2017The American Meteorological Society’s annual “State of the Climate report is based on contributions from scientists from around the world and provides a detailed update on global climate indicators, notable weather events, and other data collected by environmental monitoring stations and instruments located on land, water, ice, and in space. We are very pleased to recognize 10 SSAI employees who were cited as co-authors or contributors in the newly released 2017 report:

Publication Co-authors: Lawrence Coy, Stacey Frith, Shashi Gupta, Eric Nash, Jorge Pinzon, Parnchai Sawaengphokhai, Sunny Sun-Mack, Anne Wilber

Back Cover Contributors: Joshua Stevens, Adam Voiland

An international, peer-reviewed publication released each summer, the “State of the Climate” is the authoritative annual summary of the global climate published as a supplement to the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society (BAMS). While the news for global ozone is heartening - ozone recovery is one of our greatest environmental success stories - the report documents the ongoing and substantial negative effects of climate change. We applaud the hard work and dedication of our many scientists as they continue to study the changing state of our Home Planet.
