For the Ozone Mapper and Profiler Suite (OMPS), SSAI developed processing code and enhanced it to accommodate instrument on-orbit performance. We provide in-depth science team support for limb profiler algorithm integration, testing, evaluation, assessment, and validation. SSAI ported the science grade retrieval algorithms to a supercomputer platform and conducted numerical experiments to test and validate retrieval algorithms, developing tools for code testing and graphical visualization of results. We studied the effects of a series of parameters on the quality of the ozone profiles retrieved by the limb sensor, including aerosol content, height registration, and surface reflectance. SSAI provides data simulation and analysis expertise to assess OMPS system performance with respect to Joint Polar Satellite System specifications. We work to create reliable Climate Data Records in a controlled and documented environment.
