Job Description:
Science Systems and Applications, Inc. (SSAI) has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Administrator to join our Information Technology Infrastructure team. The current opportunity will be providing Systems Administration support for computers and IT infrastructure used by SSAI Employees supporting the National Air and Space Administration (NASA) on meaningful projects in Earth and environmental science research, engineering, and applications for societal benefit. It will include supporting a heterogeneous mix of Windows, MacOS, and Linux workstations, Linux servers, network storage systems, and Cloud based systems and services. It may also include support for corporate infrastructure services including Microsoft 365 and SharePoint. Along with strong multi-platform Systems Administration skills, the ideal candidate will have experience with end user customer support, will have strong problem-solving skills and be good at collaborating, innovating, and making things happen. Familiarity with NASA IT systems and policies is beneficial.
Required Qualifications:
BS in computer science, information technology, or engineering, with at least 5 years of applicable work and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Detailed and very technical oriented with strong organizational skills
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent end user customer support skills
Capable of working both independently and collaboratively
Wllling to demonstrate initiative in task completion and communications
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong understanding of Linux systems administration
Understanding of Windows systems administration
Experience with network storage systems (SAN or NAS)
Shell scripting or programming skills in a Linux environment
Must be a US citizen
Desired Qualifications:
Familiarity with NASA IT systems and processes
Experience with Amazon Web Services compute (EC2), storage (S3N), and security (IAM) services
Experience supporting a Microsoft 365 environment
Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint 2019
Experience with database management systems
Experience with version control systems, especially Git based
Experience with issue tracking systems
