Job Description:

Science Systems and Applications, Inc. (SSAI) is seeking an individual with experience in remote sensing, scientific programming, and data analysis to support the NASA CLARREO Pathfinder (CPF) mission. You will join a team of scientists and programmers who are developing the algorithms to inter-calibrate existing shortwave satellite sensors using CPF’s high-accuracy measurements that will be made from the International Space Station. The CPF mission objectives include inter-calibration of the VIIRS and CERES instruments on JPSS. CPF will also demonstrate the ability to inter-calibrate land and geostationary imagers; to characterize vicarious calibration surface sites; and to improve the accuracy of the Moon as an on-orbit calibration reference.

The individual will be working with the entire inter-calibration team to successfully develop a sophisticated data analysis framework to validate the inter-calibration science algorithms and conduct the data analysis that is a core mission objective. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can easily work with a diverse team, is intellectually curious, has demonstrated the capability and willingness to learn new skills, and can think critically and creatively across the inter-calibration sub-system. This individual will play a key role in supporting a very productive and highly visible research group within the Science Directorate at NASA Langley Research Center.
