Job Description:
Science Systems and Applications, Inc. (SSAI) is currently in search of a dynamic, enthusiastic Senior Organizational Development Specialist to join our team in either our Hampton, VA or Greenbelt, MD office.

The Senior Organizational Development Specialist will coordinate the development and implementation of staff development strategies, including but not limited to, facilitating mentor and training programs; coordinating workforce and continuity planning; developing and cultivating relationships with businesses and academic organizations; leveraging data to make workforce projections and inform strategic change initiatives and developing strategies to help employees develop skills for future growth. 

The Senior Organizational Development Specialist's primary responsibility is to develop, implement, and deliver workforce-oriented services according to company needs and aligned with organizational goals.
Required Qualifications:
  • Qualified candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of combined talent development, training or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to build relationships regardless of communication tool (telephone, email, social media, etc.)
  • Position requires strong administrative skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Skilled at developing unique training programs
  • Skilled at identifying workforce risk based on a clear understanding of client/company culture/needs and research/best practices
  • Ability to present training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussions, lecture, simulations, and videos
  • Extremely organized, self-motivated, and capable of working in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to analyze data and formulate recommendations for successful strategies
  • Experience managing relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders through various social communication methods
  • Able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Great organization skills and ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Desired Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities: professional manner and discretion, courteousness, a willingness to learn, and a "can do" attitude
  • Human Resources Certificate or PHR or SPHR certification preferred
  • Experience with, ADP or a Human Capital Management (HCM) or similar software
  • Knowledge of workforce development and career pathways
  • Training and Development and/or Talent Management experience a plus
  • Ability to proactively identify potential issues, evaluate the impact, create and implement a solution, and communicate the issue, steps taken, and results in a timely manner with appropriate parties
