Job Description:

SSAI seeks an Administrative Liaison to support the Temporary Services and Support (TSAS) contract at Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). The candidate will be responsible for a variety of general administrative activities to assist, coordinate, and perform aspects of logistics, acquisitions, shipping and finance for organizations of the Laboratory.  Maintain, collate, assemble and prepare a variety of information, reports and records; may assist with coordination of organizational projects and/or collection of related information. Offer contingent on ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen.


  • Analyzes financial data and recommends appropriate action to ensure proper status of budget.
  • Coordinates budget approval process for direct accounts; Monitors budgets by analyzing budget over/under reporting discrepancies; determines if erroneous charges occurred.
  • Assists cognizant individuals with workforce and cost estimating.
  • Assists in developing budgets for Statements of Work.
  • Provides inputs to financial commentary and narrative for status reports.
  • Drafts administrative and financial portions of new work proposals.
  • Makes recommendations to Acquisitions for additions to institutional approved vendor list.
  • Implements organization’s procedures for required programs.
  • Analyzes and researches basic technical needs of requestor and ensures that correct items are procured.
  • Initiates contract modifications.
  • Authors noncompetitive justifications.
  • Researches and provides recommendations as to handling and moving of JPL Flight and JPL critical instruments (JCI).
  • Works with various departments across JPL to give input into creating, editing, and altering JPL policies and procedures in order to create efficiencies.
  • Coordinates transportation of hazardous and/or critical items, including handling for domestic and international shipments.
  • Implements organization’s procedures for inventory control, loan of equipment, and resolution of issues resulting from losses or damages.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or related field and 5 years’ experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read and analyze finance and budget data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
  • Ability to research complex problems
  • Ability to work well with vendors, internal and external customers
Desired Qualifications:
Experience shipping and receiving is a plus.
